The focus of this course is to engage students in a balanced selection of both team and
individual activities. Students will explore the dimensions of fitness through the
following:
- Games including volleyball, floor hockey, soccer, basketball, football, rugby,
Frisbee, etc.
- Individual activities including badminton, tennis, swimming, martial arts, wrestling,
and weight training
- Dance and Cardiovascular Fitness including fitness testing, hip hop, step class,
spin classes, and social dance
- Heart Saver First Aid

Physical Education 20
5 Credits
With 1 Additional Credit for Outdoor Education *
Students will be introduced to lifetime skill activities. Participants will build leadership
experience and continue to explore the dimensions of Physical Education with the
addition of activities including golf, rowing, fitness programs, outdoor education,
canoeing, bowling, water polo, snorkelling, softball, yoga, and officiating.
Prerequisite: Physical Education 10.
Course Fee: $40.00.
Physical Education 30
5 Credits
With 1 Additional Credit for Outdoor Education *
Physical Education 30 may be used as a post-secondary entrance requirement for
programs in Physical Education and Recreation. Lifetime recreational activities, fitness,
and social skills will be the main focus of this course. Some of the activities may include
the following: Physical Education Olympics, peer teaching, outdoor education camp,
fitness programming, wall climbs, cycling, curling, rowing, golf, scuba diving, and
sledge hockey.
Recommended Prerequisite: 65% in Physical Education 20.

Physical Education Program 10 or 20
3 Credits
This course provides flexibility for those students who wish to participate and continue
in lifelong fitness, for example High Performance athletes, International Baccalaureate
students, and students with full timetables or timetable conflicts. This program is
offered during the day, outside the regular timetable.
Prerequisite: None for PE 10 Unsemestered; 3 credits in Physical Education 10 for
Physical Education 20 Unsemestered.
Course Fee: $40.00 for PE 20.
Sports Performance & Fitness 15, 25, 35
5 Credits
These courses are offered to any student wishing to develop their physical fitness
goals. This course combines classroom theory and practical application in the areas of
personal health, wellness, and performance. A Leadership component will be
required by students taking these courses. This course is offered at the 15, 25, and
35 levels.
